Frequently Asked
Questions
Our FAQ page is here to help you feel confident and prepared as you begin your dance journey. Whether you’re brand‑new or just curious about how things work, you’ll find clear answers about classes, what to expect, and how to get started. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, we’re always happy to help.
Can you help me find your front door please?
To find us, park near Kroger Wine & Spirits. When you're at the front door of Kroger Wine & Spirits, turn right under the arch, and follow the sidewalk inside the metal fencing until you find the door that says Jazzercise - that's our door!
Do I need to register for class, or do I just show up?
You do not need to pre-register for group classes - you can just show up! If it’s your first time at our studio, you will want to arrive 5-10 minutes early to check in at the front desk and prepare for class.
What should I wear?
We recommend you wear whatever is most comfortable for you! Some people come to dance for exercise, so they wear workout clothes. Others come dressed up in what they would wear if they were going out dancing! Most people wear everyday attire.
What if I don’t have a partner?
You do not need to bring your own dance partner! Most people actually come solo. In our group classes, we have the opportunity to rotate partners. It's an amazing way to meet new friends!
What if I’m not comfortable rotating partners?
We get it, sometimes you want to stick with a special someone. No problem. In group classes you can choose to stay with one partner, or rotate partners. Our instructors will guide you through rotation at the beginning of class.
What type of shoes should I wear?
The best shoes for dancing are ones that slide a bit (but not too much!) on the floor. Common streetwear options we see a lot are Toms, Bobs, and Hey Dudes. Gym shoes aren’t the best, but lots of people wear gym shoes as well. We recommend not to wear a shoe that would fly off your foot (like a flip-flop). At the front desk, we have slides you can wear over your gym shoes if you want an inexpensive option that works well before investing in real dance shoes.
What if I have two left feet?
Perfect! That’s the best place to start, and we’re here for you! Everyone at Bluegrass Ballroom started somewhere. It’s our goal to create the most welcoming and encouraging atmosphere to kick-start your dance journey.
